Intrauterine Fetal Blood Transfusion (IUT) is a specialized procedure performed during pregnancy to treat severe fetal anemia. It involves transfusing compatible blood directly to the baby while still inside the uterus.

How is the Procedure Done?

The procedure is performed under continuous ultrasound guidance. A thin needle is inserted through the mother’s abdomen into the umbilical vein, and carefully matched donor blood is transfused to the fetus.
